What we have built, and what comes next

This page is kept honest by the same rule as the rest of the product: a phase counts as shipped only when the features under it are actually live, not when they are nearly done.

3 of 9 phases shipped

  1. ShippedJuly 2026

    The foundation

A catalogue you can actually search, an account that remembers what you care about, and an editorial back office behind it. Categories, roles and permissions are rows in a database rather than constants in the code, so a new market never waits for a release.

  2. ShippedJuly 2026

Reading a conference from its website

Paste a link and the system reads the page for itself: structured data first, then heuristics, then a language model. Everything it extracts is checked against reality — impossible dates, invented countries and made-up categories are thrown away — and a person approves the result field by field before anything is published.

  3. ShippedJuly 2026

    The watch that never sleeps

Conference websites change quietly — a stage moves, a price jumps, a speaker disappears. Every page we know about is re-read on a schedule and any difference becomes a proposal for an editor. A field somebody edited by hand is never overwritten, and a temporarily broken website can never delete content.

  4. In progresstarget Q3 2026

    Freshness you can measure

Every record carries the day it was last compared against its source, and a disagreement does not count as a check. Records that go quiet are pushed back to the front of the queue automatically, so measuring freshness leads to action rather than to a chart nobody reads.

  5. In progresstarget Q3 2026

Enough content to be worth your time

The hardest item on this list is not code — it is filling the catalogue with conferences whose dates, places and prices have actually been checked. We would rather show you fewer events than publish a skeleton with a missing date. Email is wired up and the first messages are going out.

  6. In progresstarget Q3 2026

Finding conferences nobody told us about

A daily sweep of exhibition centres, open datasets, trade media and call-for-paper networks, with each find scored and given a readable reason. Accepting a find does not create anything — it only queues it for extraction, so nothing reaches the catalogue without a second human decision. Built and tested; still proving itself in production.

  7. Plannedtarget Q4 2026

    A reason to come back

Compare a handful of events side by side with the differences marked, put one in your calendar with the right time zone, filter by how far it is from home and what is left of your budget, and be told when a saved search finds something new.

  8. Plannedtarget Q1 2027

    Paying for itself

Deliberately last: there is nothing to sell without an audience. Paid tiers for people who plan a whole season, highlighted listings for organisers, and analytics showing an organiser what ConfBeacon actually brought them. Organisers will never be able to buy a better ranking — that refusal is the product.

  9. Plannedtarget Q2 2027

    Who else is going

Seeing who else from your field will be in the room, and getting in touch without handing over your email address. It only makes sense once enough people are going to the same events, so it waits.

Dates on unfinished work are targets, not promises — a quarter we are aiming at, and we will move it here rather than quietly let it slip. Anything already shipped carries the month it went live.
